Windrush Women: Past and Present

Catherine Ross, our Founder and Director, is joining an incredible panel of guests at an event called Windrush Women: Past and Present on Monday 25th June from 7pm-8.30pm at The British Library for an evening of poetry and readings inspired by the lives of female writers from the Windrush era.

There were 257 female passengers on board the Empire Windrush, 188 of them travelling alone, from all over the Caribbean.

The event is being organised by contemporary international writing magazine Wasafiri to celebrate women writers from the Windrush era and hear work inspired by their legacy, from a new generation living and writing in the UK.

Wasafiri’s 94th issue will also include a special feature on Windrush women.
